Section I: Documentation

Article 1: Description

The BSC Racing League is a free to join league designed to cater to a wide variety of skill, racing styles, and preferences.

Beyond our official league races, there is always something going on in the league discord, whether that be a hosted race, or some folks playing a totally different game.

Article 2: League Commission and Administration

  • President: Armand Bruso
  • Vice President: Noel Jackelwicz
  • Competition Director: Alex Whitt
  • Competition Director: Seth Pegg

Section II: Code of Conduct

Article 1: Ideal League Attitude

  1. This is the BROKE SCRUB Cup Racing League. We are not racing for cash and it does not cost anything to join.
  2. The general mindset we are trying to foster is “I want to drive my best and have fun trying to win, but if I lose/finish poorly it's not going to ruin my night”.
  3. We try our best to maintain a friendly community and have a discord server that we use as a primary communication source.
  4. Everyone that races in any of our series should be able to without being disrespected or belittled over race chat.

Article 2: Attendance Policy

  1. We have an “open door” policy.  Everyone has a life outside of iRacing and you are not expected to make every race and will not be punished/persecuted for doing so.  Please advise the proper Series commissioners if you intend to miss a large number of races.
  2. Continuously missing races while at the same time not being active on Discord, Facebook or responding to and/or reaching out to Series Commissioners will result in forfeit of Roster Number and/or Series removal to make room for drivers on the waiting list.
  3. If in communication, your spot will always be there for you when your schedule permits.

Article 3: General League Etiquette

  1. Constant shouting in chat/berating in the chat is not allowed.
  2. Be friendly. It's a fun, semi-casual racing league. Just race as clean as you can and have fun.
  3. Political discussion is not allowed. We're here to race, not argue about politics.
  4. Refrain from immediately shouting at/badmouthing other drivers over the in-game radio following a wreck.
  5. No Drama! If you want to start some, there are plenty of other places and leagues to do that in. It will not be tolerated.

  1. Races are to start on the green flag from iRacing. Subsequent restarts are under leader control.
  2. No EOL will be given out at the start of the race. If you want to start at the back of the field then do not complete qualifying laps.
  3. Cautions
      1. Automatic cautions from iRacing are enabled for the session. These will be disabled for road courses and will rely on locally enforced cautions.
      2. Admin cautions will only be thrown for incidents involving 2 or more cars on track. Single car incidents will not result in an admin caution but may still bring out an automatic caution.
      3. It is your responsibility to inform race control of any 2 car incidents. We can not see everything that happens on track.
      4. When the caution comes out, drivers are expected to check up safely and not cause further incidents. Failure to do so may invoke penalties laid out in the rules documentation.
      5. Once safely through the incident, drivers are expected to catch up to the pace car. Sort out order after the pace car is caught and pacing speed is achieved.
      6. Drivers are expected to maintain a reasonable closeness to the car in front of them. Failure to do so may invoke penalties laid out in the rules documentation.
  4. Restarts
      1. The BSC Cup Series utilizes the choose cone. Drivers are required to choose either the top or bottom lane prior to crossing the Start/Finish line for "one to go".
      2. Race Restarts are under leader control and are permitted to go inside of the Restart Zones where applicable. In any instance that there is not a Restart Zone, the leader may go at any point after the pace car enters the pit lane.
      3. The BSC Cup Series will utilize double file restarts. The field is expected to be packed tight and have less than a car length between cars coming to the green flag.
      4. There will be no passing prior to the Start/Finish line. Drivers are expected to maintain position until after the Start/Finish line and are then permitted to move around the cars ahead.
      5. Do not attempt to jump the start to gain an advantage.
      6. If upon restart you notice your car is under-powered, you are expected to notify the other drivers on race comms and drop to the apron to let the other competitors pass safely.

Section II: Race Series Information

Article 1: Racing Expectations and Etiquette

  1. Lapped traffic is expected to communicate with and yield to lead lap traffic whenever possible. However, if you have much fresher tires and are faster than lead lap traffic, you are free to attempt to unlap yourself.
  2. Lucky dogs are handed out by iRacing. Lucky dog recipients are expected to call out over race comms and other drivers are expected to stay low to avoid incidents.
  3. Racing/Passing under the white line is permitted at specific tracks (Kansas, Chicagoland, etc). The car inside of track limits is not obligated to let you back on track and if an incident occurs, the car below the line will be penalized in accordance to the rules in league documentation.
  4. Blocking during racing is highly discouraged. For example, blocking is making moves in reaction to the trailing car as opposed to making moves in anticipation.
  5. Dive bombing a corner is highly discouraged. If you dive bomb a corner and cause an accident you will be penalized in accordance to the rules in league documentation.
  6. Intentional wrecking is against league rules. This can be categorized as either intentionally wrecking your competition or intentionally wrecking yourself to influence the race in any way. In either instance, the league admins will review the incident and decide on a proper punishment which could include removal from The BSC Racing League.
  7. A good rule of thumb is: Drive cleanly, Have fun, Always try to improve.
